Uncover hidden problems
Impacted teeth, root resorption, skeletal discrepancies, and airway obstructions are often invisible on clinical examination – imaging reveals them, enabling accurate diagnosis.
Orthodontic imaging is a specialised set of diagnostic tools used to evaluate dental and skeletal relationships, tooth position, and growth patterns – essential for planning braces, aligners, and orthognathic surgery. At Amytri Diagnostics, we provide a comprehensive range of orthodontic imaging services, including panoramic X‑rays (OPG), lateral cephalometric X‑rays, and 3D CBCT scans. These images allow orthodontists to assess the teeth, jaws, temporomandibular joints, and airway with precision, enabling accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
Traditional clinical examination alone is insufficient for orthodontic planning. Imaging reveals the underlying skeletal structures, impacted teeth, root angulation, and the spatial relationship between the upper and lower jaws. This information is critical for determining the best treatment approach – whether it is conventional braces, clear aligners, or surgical correction.
At Amytri, our advanced digital imaging equipment and experienced radiologists ensure high‑quality images with minimal radiation. We provide detailed reports and, for CBCT, 3D reconstructions that can be integrated with orthodontic planning software. Our team works closely with orthodontists to support every step of your journey to a beautiful, functional smile.
A beautiful smile starts with a thorough understanding of the underlying dental and skeletal structures. Orthodontic imaging provides the roadmap for effective, safe, and predictable treatment.
Impacted teeth, root resorption, skeletal discrepancies, and airway obstructions are often invisible on clinical examination – imaging reveals them, enabling accurate diagnosis.
With 2D and 3D images, orthodontists can plan tooth movements, assess anchorage needs, and simulate outcomes – ensuring the best possible results.
CBCT helps avoid root contact during tooth movement, detect resorption early, and assess the airway – reducing the risk of complications.
We provide a full range of imaging modalities to support your orthodontist in every phase of treatment – from initial diagnosis to final retention.
Standardised side‑view image with cephalometric landmarks – used for skeletal and soft tissue analysis, growth assessment, and treatment planning.
Comprehensive view of all teeth, developing dentition, and supporting bone – essential for eruption assessment, impacted teeth, and general dental health.
3D assessment of tooth angulation, root position, bone thickness, and airway – ideal for complex cases, impacted canines, and surgical planning.
Frontal view X‑ray to assess facial symmetry, midline deviations, and transverse skeletal discrepancies.
Our radiologists provide digital cephalometric tracings with key landmarks, measurements, and normative comparisons – directly usable by orthodontists.
CBCT allows evaluation of upper airway volume (for sleep apnoea) and TMJ condylar position – important for comprehensive orthodontic care.
Your orthodontist will refer you for the necessary imaging based on your clinical examination and treatment needs.
You undergo the prescribed imaging (OPG, cephalogram, CBCT) at our centre. The process is quick, comfortable, and uses low‑dose technology.
Our radiologist analyses the images, performs cephalometric tracing (if indicated), and prepares a comprehensive report with measurements and observations.
Your images and report are shared with your orthodontist, who integrates them into treatment planning software for precise diagnosis and treatment planning.
Whether you are a child, adolescent, or adult – imaging is essential for safe and effective orthodontic care.
Imaging monitors growth and dental development, helping orthodontists decide the best timing for treatment (e.g., early interceptive or full braces).
Imaging reveals bone support, root health, and existing restorations – essential for planning adult orthodontic treatment.
CBCT precisely locates impacted teeth and their relationship to adjacent structures – crucial for surgical exposure and alignment.
Cephalometric and CBCT imaging assess skeletal relationships – guiding decisions about orthognathic surgery.
CBCT can evaluate the upper airway and guide treatment that may improve breathing.
Imaging assesses healing, growth disturbance, and guides further treatment.
Dr. Abhishek has extensive experience in cephalometric analysis, CBCT interpretation, and orthodontic imaging. He works closely with orthodontists to provide detailed, accurate data that forms the foundation of successful treatment – whether it's simple alignment or complex surgical planning.
Orthodontic imaging is an important step towards a confident smile – having your partner or family member with you can provide reassurance and shared excitement.
We welcome partners during the consultation and report discussion. They can ask questions, help understand the images, and support you through the orthodontic journey.
Typically, an OPG (panoramic X‑ray) and a lateral cephalometric X‑ray are essential. CBCT may be required for complex cases involving impacted teeth, jaw surgery, or airway assessment.
Yes, the radiation dose is very low – OPG and cephalograms use minimal radiation. CBCT dose is higher but still significantly lower than medical CT, and we use paediatric and low‑dose protocols where appropriate.
Remove any metal objects (jewellery, glasses, hairpins) from your head and neck. You will be positioned carefully for each image. No fasting or special preparation is required.
OPG and cephalogram each take less than 5 minutes. CBCT takes about 10–20 seconds for the scan itself. The entire appointment is typically 15–20 minutes.
Images are available immediately for viewing. A formal report with cephalometric tracing (if requested) is typically ready within 24–48 hours.
Yes, a referral from your orthodontist or dentist is required. The imaging is part of your orthodontic treatment plan and should be performed based on clinical indications.
